• ARES Ultra operators and cold-start hesitation. The ARES line is popular for heavy residential sliding gates in neighborhoods like Lincoln Park and Oak Park, but the brushless DC motor can hesitate on first cold morning cycles when Chicago’s lake-effect temperatures drop below 15°F. We see this every January. The motor is not failing - the encoder board is reading false position errors due to thickened grease on the rack. • IGEA BT under-gate arm and limestone dust infiltration.
